Southwater Municipal Utility Authority is a wastewater Authority comprised of three communities. The City of Algonac, Clay Township, and Ira Township. The Authority owns and operates the St. Clair County-Algonac WWTP.

Wastewater Treatment

We operate the St. Clair County–Algonac WWTP, treating wastewater for households and businesses across the three member communities.

Regulatory Compliance

The plant is operated to meet all State of Michigan (EGLE) and federal discharge permit requirements, protecting local waterways.

Infrastructure Stewardship

Ongoing maintenance and capital planning keep the plant, clarifiers, and collection interfaces reliable for decades to come.
